A ridge lies over much of New Zealand today however a low affects the upper North Island which brings some rain, gradually clearing away during the day.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning rain / showers then sunny areas increase from afternoon, showers may not clear Northland till evening. Southeasterly winds.
Highs: 15-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny with morning high cloud clearing away, southeasterly winds.
Highs: 14-16

Eastern North Island
Mostly cloudy with the odd light shower, cool southerly winds.
High: 12-13

Wellington
A mix of sun and cloud with southerly winds.
High: 12

Canterbury
Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, light southwesterly winds.
Highs: 12-14

West Coast
Any morning cloud clears then sunny with light winds.
Highs: 16-18

Southland & Otago
Morning cloud with the chance of a shower then sunny areas increase from afternoon, light west to southwest winds.
Highs: 13-16
