A ridge brings settled weather to the South Island today, south to southeasterly winds ease over the North Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny with light southerly winds. There may be a morning shower or two about the western side of Northland then clearing away.
Highs: 13-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny weather with south to southeasterly winds. Some cloud about the Manawatu during the day however.
Highs: 8-12

Eastern North Island
Cloudy areas and the chance of a shower or two, mainly about coastal fringes. Drier weather just inland away from the coast. Cold southwesterly winds.
Highs: 10-12

Wellington
Chance of a morning shower then sunny areas develop in the afternoon, southerly winds ease.
High: 10

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with light winds after a frost start.
Highs: 10-12

Canterbury
Any morning cloud clears then sunny with light afternoon northeasterlies.
Highs: 8-10

West Coast
Sunny, some cloud for South Westland later in the evening. Light winds.
Highs: 10-13

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny with light winds. A frost start for inland areas.
Highs: 6-10
