Upper North Island

Mostly sunny with a touch of high cloud possible, west to southwesterly winds. About the Bay Of Plenty winds tend north to northwest in the afternoon. High’s in the mid to high twenties.

Lower North Island

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud in the west, cloud thickens in the evening then a few showers move in. West to northwesterly winds. Mostly sunny along the east coast with some developing high cloud, afternoon northeasterlies. Wellington is mostly cloudy, chance of a light shower from afternoon although more likely in the evening. Temperatures in the low to mid twenties, high twenties about some east coast spots just inland away from the coast.

Upper South Island

Mostly cloudy about North Westland with showers, clearing late afternoon or evening, winds from the northwest. Mostly sunny about Nelson then cloud thickens from afternoon, showers for a time late afternoon or evening. Sunny areas and increasing cloud about Marlborough and Canterbury, showers possible late afternoon / evening, especially about North Canterbury and southern Marlborough. Southerlies tend northeast by evening in Canterbury. High’s in the mid to high twenties about Canterbury, Marlborough and Nelson. Early twenties for North Westland.

Lower South Island

Cloudy about South Westland with the chance of a light shower or two, some sun breaks through from afternoon. Cloudy areas and occasional sun for Southland and Otago, chance of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening. Light winds tend onshore in the afternoon. High’s in the low to mid twenties for most, high twenties for some parts of Central Otago.
