Upper North Island

Cloudy areas and a shower or two, showers more likely this afternoon with downpours and perhaps even thunderstorms. Heavy falls more likely about southern Auckland, Waikato and inland Bay Of Plenty. North to northeasterly winds. High’s in the low to mid twenties.

Lower North Island

Cloudy areas, showers develop this afternoon especially inland with a chance of heavy falls and thunderstorms then easing later this evening. Along the eastern coastal fringes conditions are mainly dry today with areas of sun, further inland about the ranges showers are more likely. Light winds tend onshore after midday. High’s in the low to mid twenties.

Upper South Island

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, there may be a light shower this morning for Nelson / Marlborough. This afternoon showers develop for inland areas, some may become heavy with thunderstorms then clearing later on. Light winds tend onshore this afternoon. Temperatures reaching into the mid twenties, perhaps even late twenties for some isolated inland parts of Canterbury and Marlborough.

Lower South Island

Any morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, light winds then afternoon sea breezes. Temperatures in the mid twenties this afternoon, high twenties to early thirties inland.
