Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Early low cloud or fog breaks to mostly sunny weather, cloud builds from midday then isolated showers develop in the afternoon. Showers may be heavy with the risk of a thunderstorm then easing later on. Some rain overnight. West to northwest breezes develop after midday.

Eastern North Island
A sunny morning then isolated showers developing in the afternoon, some may be heavy (even the chance of a thunderstorm) then easing later in the evening. Light winds tending east to northeast about the coast in the afternoon.
Highs: 18-20
Wellington
Sunny spells, late evening showers. Northerlies freshen from afternoon.

Marlborough & Nelson
Any morning cloud or fog breaks to mostly sunny weather, may be an isolated shower late afternoon / evening (possibly heavy inland) then clearing away. Light winds tend north to northwest in the afternoon.
Highs: 17-20
Canterbury
Morning cloud breaks then mostly sunny for Canterbury, may be an isolated shower late afternoon / evening (chance of a heavy fall inland) then easing and clearing later on. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 16-18
West Coast
Some morning sun then a few showers start to move in from afternoon, showers heavier overnight as northwest winds change gusty southwest.
Highs: 15-18
Southland & Otago
Any morning low cloud or fog breaks then mostly sunny with some developing high cloud, chance of an isolated shower late afternoon then later in the evening or overnight showers are more likely as southwest winds freshen.
Highs: 16-21
