A front weakens over the North Island today meanwhile a ridge brings mainly settled weather further south.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Rain or showers gradually ease then clearing this evening, some areas may remain fairly dry for much of the day. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 13-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Any early showers clear then sunny areas increase, light winds.
Highs: 10-14

Eastern North Island
Early showers clear Hawkes Bay, showers not clearing Gisborne till afternoon. Once showers clear expect sunny areas to increase with southwesterly winds easing and dying out.
Highs: 13-14

Wellington
Any early showers clear then sunny areas increase, southerlies die out in the afternoon.
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson
Any morning cloud clears then mainly sunny with light winds tending north to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 12-13

Canterbury
Mainly sunny with some high cloud from afternoon, light northeasterly winds.
Highs: 9-11

West Coast
Mainly sunny with light northeasterlies, some high cloud possible mainly about South Westland.
Highs: 11-13

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny, some high cloud possible. Light north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 7-11
