A ridge lies over the country today bringing mainly settled weather, an east to northeasterly airflow increases over the South Island from evening.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Any early showers clear then expect mostly sunny weather with southwesterly breezes, some high cloud develops from afternoon. A chance of fog for inland areas overnight.
Highs: 16-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Sunny spells with west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 14-15

Eastern North Island

Mainly sunny with light winds.
Highs: 16-17

Wellington

Mostly sunny with light winds.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny with light winds.
High: 15

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with some high cloud, cloud thickens and lowers in the evening. Light winds tend easterly in the afternoon.
Highs: 14

West Coast

Sunny spells with light winds, cloudier skies about South Westland with some rain moving into Fiordland during the afternoon.
Highs: 13-14

Southland & Otago

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, overnight spots of rain for Southland. Light winds tend easterly from afternoon.
Highs: 10-13
