A west to southwesterly airflow lies over the country today, mainly clear skies in the east and areas of cloud out west. There may be a few patchy light showers in some western regions today otherwise mainly dry conditions expected.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Cloudy areas, chance of a shower at times during the day otherwise mainly dry. More inland about the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty especially there may be sunny areas. Winds from the southwest.
Highs: 14-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Sunny areas with cloud thicker first thing in the morning nearer the coast, frosty inland to start where skies are clearer. Westerly breezes.
High: 12-13

Eastern North Island

A mainly sunny day with light winds.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington

Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, southerlies die away.
High: 11

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny areas and a few clouds about, mostly sunny for Nelson. Light winds.
Highs: 13-14

Canterbury

Mainly sunny with light winds, there may be some cloud from afternoon near the coast.
High: 11

West Coast

Areas of cloud with gentle westerly winds, chance of a shower or two about otherwise dry.
Highs: 11-12

Southland & Otago

Cloudy areas and the odd brief shower possible about Southland mainly near the coast, mostly sunny elsewhere after any morning cloud breaks away. Light winds.
Highs: 9-10
