Conditions ease tonight for the North Island in the most populated areas but there could still be a few heavy downpours along western coastlines. Cloudy for most of the South Island, rain may become heavy during the night about Nelson.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato
Showers, heavy and thundery with a risk of hail easing this evening. Winds from the northeast tending northwest through the night. Showers during the night will be isolated, more frequent on western coastlines and possibly heavy there.
Lows tonight: 9-13
Central North Island & Bay Of Plenty
Clear spells and some cloud. A few showers move into the Bay Of Plenty one or of which could be heavy. the odd one may move into the Central North Island also. Light winds tend northeast.
Lows tonight: 7-11
Eastern North Island
Any rain about Gisborne clearing, expect some high cloud otherwise with light winds.
Low tonight: 7-9
Western North Island
Rain about Taranaki, possibly heavy and thundery then easing during the night. Cloudy further south with north to northeast winds, rain not affecting these areas till mid way through the night or towards dawn tomorrow morning.
Lows tonight: 9-10
Wellington
Becoming cloudy this evening, a period of rain towards dawn tomorrow morning. Northeasterly breezes.
Lows tonight: 10-11
Nelson
Periods of rain develop this evening, possibly heavy at times overnight. Light winds.

Marlborough
Cloudy periods with light winds, some rain towards dawn tomorrow.
Lows tonight: 8-9
Canterbury
Cloudy with drizzle patches, easterly breezes. A period of rain towards dawn.
Low tonight: 7-8
West Coast
Rain eases, easterly breezes.
Lows tonight: 8-9
Southland & Otago
Drizzle about eastern Otago with easterlies, dry elsewhere with cloudy areas.
Lows tonight: 5-9
