High pressure continues to be mostly centred west of NZ, as is often the case in an El Niño Autumn, meaning it might be a bit windy in coastal and exposed places again today and Wednesday. The airflows will be cooler at times, bringing an Autumn feel.
Most regions are dry or mainly dry but a few showers are around the nation. See your local forecast and track on rain radar. Even a 5% or 10% chance can mean a shower but it’s likely to be very isolated, short lived and with low accumulation.
It will be windiest in the lower South Island and then later this evening it will be gustier in Wellington (but nothing too big in Wellington).
