Tracking expected rainfall totals in 12 hour blocks across this week (+6 Maps)

> From the WeatherWatch archives

With a low falling apart over New Zealand later this week and a continuation of subtropical airflows for many we can expect localised but very heavy downpours mid to later this week.

In 12 hour blocks here’s what is expected across the country as this low moves in.

Areas most exposed to heavy rain are those in the west and north of both the North and South Islands – isolated flooding and slips are possible for a time as the main rain bands come through (Around Wednesday and Thursday).
