Torrential rain hits South Auckland, more rain on the way

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Torrential rain continues to pound south Auckland, roughly in a line from Auckland International Aiport to Howick and south.

The rain has slowed traffic to a crawl at the end of the working week.

And while sunny skies have appeared over northern parts of Auckland all is not over.  Another rain band is currently moving down Northland towards the city.

WeatherWatch.co.nz is receiving reports of flooding across Auckland this afternoon as rain, torrential at times, continues to fall.

Driving conditions are terrible too with some traffic at a complete standstill.

We’re keen to hear your eyewitness reports from around the city – post a comment below if you’ve seen anything weather related, such as traffic snarl ups, accidents or flooding.
