Everyday this week the North Island has seen maximum temperatures in the 20s and it was Kawerau with the national high of 28 this afternoon whereas Invercargill was coming up the rear with the national low of 17 degrees.

Tonight, temperatures should be near average however a little on the mild side for some areas.

The South Island didn’t have an overly warm day with 24 the high in Blenheim and most inland areas were just a little below mid February averages.
