High pressure covers New Zealand today so conditions are mainly settled but there is some cloud and a few showers about, especially this afternoon. More details below.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud, chance of an afternoon shower for Northland. Light winds.
Highs: 15-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Partly cloudy with a shower or two, mainly afternoon. Light winds.
Highs: 9-14

Eastern North Island

Partly cloudy with a few showers, mainly south of Napier, clearing in the evening. Gisborne sees a few showers develop evening. Light winds tend easterly after midday.
High: 13-15

Wellington

Mostly cloudy with a few showers, clearing evening. Light southeasterlies.
Highs: 12-13

Marlborough & Nelson

Cloudy areas and the odd shower, clearing evening. Southerly winds, afternoon northerlies possible for Nelson.
Highs: 12-14

Canterbury

Partly cloudy, chance of a shower or drizzle patch. Light winds tend easterly in the afternoon.
Highs: 11-12

West Coast

Fiordland and South Westland are mostly sunny, perhaps a few afternoon clouds about the ranges. Further north expect partly cloudy skies and the risk of a shower, mainly afternoon. Light winds.
Highs: 11-14

Southland & Otago
A mix of sun and cloud, central Otago is mostly sunny. Coastal Otago may see a drizzle patch overnight. Light winds, afternoon easterlies for coastal Otago.
