We mainly have high pressure covering New Zealand today but a few frontal features do bring a shower or two to some regions, northeasterlies for northeastern parts of the North Island also bring a few showers there.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Areas of cloud with the odd shower, especially in areas exposed to the east like Bay Of Plenty through to eastern Northland. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 17-20
Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Sunny areas and some cloud, a shower or two possible late afternoon / evening mainly south of Taranaki.
Highs: 14-18
Eastern North Island
Sunny areas and some high cloud, light winds tend to the southwest later in the day bringing the risk of a shower.
Highs: 17-19
Wellington
Cloudy areas, northerlies tend to the south in the afternoon. A few showers late afternoon or evening.
Highs: 16-17
Marlborough & Nelson
Cloud thickens today, a few showers from late afternoon or evening. Light winds.
Highs: 15-18
Canterbury
Mostly sunny after morning low cloud or fog breaks away, light winds tend to the south in the afternoon. Cloud thickens about South Canterbury in the afternoon then further north in the evening, there may be some drizzle develop about inland South and Mid Canterbury for a time.
Highs: 12-16
West Coast
Morning high cloud breaks to afternoon sunny areas, Fiordland may have a shower or two. Light winds.
Highs: 12-16
Southland & Otago
Dry at first with high cloud, winds change to the south mid morning about Southland then coastal Otago around midday bringing a few showers, clearing late afternoon or evening. Central Otago has morning low cloud or fog break to afternoon sunny areas, staying mainly dry.
