Thursday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A cold front is expected to unsettle the weather across the deep south today.

Showers will spread across Southland and Otago this morning and then work their way north this afternoon.  The West Coast and Canterbury will both have a chance for seeing this rain later today.

The upper South Island and much of the North Island should be settled and dry today.  A few showers are possible for Taranaki this morning and this afternoon, but anything that falls should be pretty light and quick.

Highs for the deep south of the South Island will be in the lower to middle teens.  The northern South Island should be in the lower to middle 20’s.

Highs for the North Island will generally in the lower to middle 20’s.
