A low continues to brew over the North Island delievering pockers of rain or showers but expect some dry areas also. Rain about Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa may be heavy. The South Island is fairly calm under a ridge of high pressure.

Northland
The odd shower at times with southwesterly breezes, could be a sunny spell or two also especially in the east.
High: 13

Auckland & Waikato
Mainly cloudy with the odd shower possible, . Could be a heavy fall out on the Coromandel Peninsula. Expect east to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 11-12

Bay Of Plenty
Periods of rain with easterly winds, could be a heavy fall or two. Thunderstorms possible also.
Highs: 13-14

Central North Island
Rain about southern parts of the Central North Island in the morning possibly heavy with snow to 800m then easing to the odd shower in the afternoon. Cloudy spells further north however the odd shower moves into areas north of Lake Taupo in the evening. East to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 6-10

Eastern North Island
Rain with heavy falls about northern Wairarapa and Hawkes Bay, showers more likely elsewhere. Gusty east to southeasterly winds. Late afternoon or evening heavy rain becomes more restricted to Wairarapa however areas of rain still continue further north.
Highs: 12-13

Western North Island
Periods of rain with gusty southeasterly winds, gusting to gale force at times about southern Taranaki. Cloudy periods look more likely for northern Taranaki with the odd shower at times. Rain eases at night possibly clearing or just the odd one or two spits remaining.
Highs: 11-12

Wellington
Mostly cloudy with strong gusty southeasterlies, gale force about Cook Strait. The odd brief shower at times but long dry spells too. Overnight rain moves in.
Highs: 10-11

Nelson
Sunny with southeasterly breezes. Some late evening cloud.
High: 11-12

Marlborough
Cloudy periods with brisk southeasterly winds, the odd shower at times mainly about the sounds. Overnight showers are more likely. Southeasterlies about the outer sounds may gust to gale force at times.
Highs: 10-11

Canterbury
Mostly sunny for light winds, there may be some evening cloud north of Banks Pensinula.
Highs: 9-11

West Coast
Sunny with light winds, southeasterlies puff through at times north of about Greymouth.
High: 11-12

Coastal Otago
Sunny with light winds.
High: 10

Central Otago
Sunny with light winds, frosty morning and night.
Highs: 5-6

Southland
Sunny spells and some cloud with light northwesterlies.
Highs: 10-11
