A westerly airflow lies over the country again today bringing cloudier skies out west with showers for some, conditons for eastern regions are looking warm and mainly dry. There could be some morning rain between about Wellington and Banks Peninsula in the South Island however.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato, CNI & BOP
Showers ease in the morning, expect long dry spells in the afternoon then in the evening showers becoming a little more widespread once again. Expect breezy westerlies. About the Bay Of Plenty morning showers clear then expect mostly sunny weather.
Highs: 16-22

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny once again with west to northwest breezes, pleasant temperatures.
Highs: 22-23

Western North Island
Showers with breezy westerlies. Skies mostly cloudy however there may be a few brief sunny spells now and then. Showers ease in the evening.
High: 17-19

Wellington
Early showers clear the expect sunny spells and some cloud, brisk northerlies.
Highs: 17-18

Nelson
Early showers clear then sunny spells increase, westerly breezes.
High: 19

Marlborough
Chance of an early shower spreading from the west otherwise expect mostly sunny weather with a few clouds now and then. Warm breezy northwesterlies.
Highs: 21-22

Canterbury
Mostly sunny weather with light winds tending northwest inland. There may be some rain however for areas north of Banks Peninsula in the morning, any of which clears fairly early on.
Highs: 19-20

West Coast
Cloudy with westerlies. Expect showers, heavy at times with a risk of thunderstorms.
Highs: 16-17

Southland & Otago
A mix of sunny and cloudy periods with westerly winds, light about the Otago coastline. Expect showers at times during the day for Southland then becoming a little more widespread later in the evening into Otago as winds strengthen.
Highs: 14-16
