Our current anticyclone is slowly moving away to the east and today will have its centre just east of the North Island. Sunny weather is on the cards for most, some drizzle is expected about Fiordland however and parts of the Bay Of Plenty could see a drizzle patch or two this morning also.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato, CNI & BOP
Mostly sunny skies with north to northeasterly breezes, any morning cloud clears then there may be a few small clouds floating about during the day. Some Bay Of Plenty areas could expect cloudy skies to start this morning with a risk of a drizzle patch or two, sunny breaks then develop in the afternoon.

East of the North Island
Sunny weather with northeasterly breezes.
Highs: 24-25
 
Western North Island
Mostly sunny skies with west to northwest breezes.
Highs: 23-25
 
Marlborough & Wellington
Sunny with northerlies breezes picking up in the afternoon, northerlies a bit gusty about Wellington from midday.
Highs: 20-21, 25 in Blenheim
 
Nelson
Sunny with northerly breezes.
Highs: 23-24
 
West Coast
A mix of cloudy and sunny areas, light west to northwest winds. About Fiordland expect drizzle patches.
Highs: 19-20
 
Canterbury
Sunny weather with light winds tending northeast on the coast north of Banks Peninsula. Some high cloud from late afternoon or evening.
Highs: 24-27

Southland & Otago
Sunny weather with light winds about coastal Otago, north to northwesterl breezes inland and for Southland. Some high cloud increases from midday.
Highs: 22-25
