A low pressure system brings some rain to Northland today meanwhile about the far south a front moves onto Southland this morning, in between conditions are a little more settled with a ridge of high pressure.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Rain for Northland, the odd heavy fall possible in the east then clearing in the evening, winds from the east. Auckland southwards, a chance of morning low cloud or fog then sunny spells, chance of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening. Light winds.
Highs: 17-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, some cloud may persist about Kapiti during the day bringing the risk of a shower or two. Northwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-17

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, light winds tend northeast in the afternoon for Hawkes Bay and Gisborne.
Highs: 19-21

Wellington
Cloudy areas, brisk northwesterly winds.
High: 15

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny areas and some high cloud, north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 17-20

Canterbury
Sunny areas and some high cloud, a few spots of rain possible mainly about South Canterbury. In the evening southerlies push into South Canterbury, moving further northwards overnight bringing some cloud.
Highs: 17-20

West Coast
Mostly cloudy, rain moves into Fiordland during the morning with a chance of heavy falls. The odd shower further north. Rain gradually moves northwards in the evening then overnight however it will ease.
Highs: 13-15

Southland & Otago
Southwesterly winds freshen about Southland in the morning bringing showers, showers ease afternoon then clear evening. Showers don’t move into Otago till midday, still clearing in the evening.
Highs: 11-16
