A slack pressure gradient may bring isolated showers late afternoon / evening for some inland parts of the North Island today, showers clear away in the east. Mainly dry for the South Island with a front hovering over the lower South Island during the day.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny with light southerlies tending southwest in the afternoon, chance of a few isolated showers late afternoon / evening about the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty.
Highs: 20-22

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny, chance of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening for inland areas otherwise mainly dry. Light winds.
Highs: 18-21

Eastern North Island
Morning showers then some afternoon sun breaks through, the Wairarapa is mainly dry all day. Light easterlies.
Highs: 17-19

Wellington
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, north to northwesterly winds.
High: 17

Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 17-22

Canterbury
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, northerly winds.
Highs: 18-21

West Coast
Thickening cloud, some rain moves into Fiordland during the morning then pushes northwards overnight. Northerly winds.
Highs: 13-16

Southland & Otago
Sunny areas and thickening high cloud, evening rain as north to northeasterly winds change westerly.
Highs: 13-16
