A southwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, mainly settled for most regions however some cloud brings a few showers for the far south of the South Island and western parts of the North Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly cloudy with the odd shower about Northland and Auckland, especially from afternoon. The Waikato and Bay Of Plenty have a dry morning with some sun then the risk of a shower develops from afternoon. Southwesterly winds.
Highs: 12-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A shower or two about Taranaki spreading elsewhere during the afternoon, a sunny morning for the Manawatu before cloud develops around midday. Kapiti looks to stay sunny all day. Light winds gradually tending southwest.
Highs: 9-13

Eastern North Island
A sunny day then some evening cloud. Light winds.
Highs: 12-14

Wellington
Mostly sunny, light winds tend southerly late afternoon.
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with light winds.
Highs: 10-13

Canterbury
Mostly sunny with light winds from the west, perhaps tending southwest near the coast in the evening.
Highs: 10-12

West Coast
Sunny with light winds, a frosty start inland.
Highs: 9-12

Southland & Otago
Mostly cloudy about Southland with a shower or two at times, Otago has a mix of sun and cloud with the chance of a shower later in the evening (mainly coastal). Cool west to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 8-11
