An anticyclone lies over the South Island today meanwhile southeasterlies over the North Island gradually ease.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
High cloud, decreasing later in the day. Rain about Northland in the morning with a chance of heavy falls, easing to showers in the afternoon then clearing evening. Southeasterly winds.
Highs: 13-14

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A mix of sun and cloud about the Central North Island and Manawatu, mostly sunny further west. Southeasterly winds.
Highs: 8-13

Eastern North Island
Cloudy skies with patchy rain or drizzle, cool southeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-12

Wellington
Cloudy areas and occasional sun, southeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-11

Marlborough & Nelson
Any early cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, east to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-12

Canterbury
Any morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, light winds.
Highs: 8-10

West Coast
Sunny weather with light winds.
Highs: 9-11

Southland & Otago
Morning low cloud or fog possible then mostly sunny with light winds.
