Mainly settled and sunny for the North Island today, northwesterlies build further south ahead of a front which moves onto the lower South Island early afternoon.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Any early cloud breaks away then mostly sunny weather with light winds, tending southwest along western coastlines and north to northeasterly in the east. Northland may see an isolated shower late afternoon / evening.
Highs: 25-28

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Any morning cloud breaks away then mainly sunny, west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 23-25

Eastern North Island
Sunny and hot with afternoon east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 25-28

Wellington
Mostly sunny with north to northwesterly winds becoming breezy in the afternoon.
High: 22-23

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with northwesterlies for Marlborough. Afternoon northerlies for Nelson.
Highs: 24-28

Canterbury
Mostly sunny with some high cloud from afternoon, northerly winds tend more northwest in the afternoon. Right about the coastal fringe expect afternoon northeasterlies.
Highs: 25-28

West Coast
Mostly sunny with light winds then north to northeasterly winds develop by midday, cloud and some rain pushes into Fiordland late morning then pushing northwards to reach North Westland later in the evening / overnight. As rain pushes northwards it weakens a little becoming more patchy.
Highs: 20-25

Southland & Otago
Sunny areas and some high cloud, northerlies change southwesterly around midday about Southland bringing a few showers then clearing. Some sun again after showers clear. Otago may only see a brief shower late afternoon / evening with the southwest flick otherwise staying fairly dry.
Highs: 18-26
