Sunny areas and some cloud from the Waikato northwards today, the odd shower at times mainly this morning. In Northland showers will continue after midday clearing in the evening. Any morning showers clear about the Central North Island and Bay of Plenty to a mostly sunny day, southwesterly breezes ease dying out at night.

A few showers pepper the east coast with southwesterly breezes, long dry spells also with sunny areas in some places. Showers become more focused in the Wairarapa towards evening. Later at night fog may develop about the Waikato and Central North Island.

Cloudy or becoming cloudy about Taranaki through to Wellington with southwesterlies, odd shower moving through from afternoon mainly in coastal areas.

Sunny on the West Coast of the South Island with light winds, some high cloud about Buller clearing. Cloud developing about Fiordland in the afternoon and perhaps a little drizzle there at night. Any morning drizzle clearing about Otago and Canterbury then cloudy areas with the odd sunny break and light northeasterlies. About Marlborough, heavy rain easing during the day clearing this afternoon, cool southeasterlies ease later.

Mostly sunny about Central Otago and Southland with light winds, a few areas of cloud.

11 to 12 degree high’s for most today in the South Island, 13 to 14 can be expected north of Hokitika however and about Nelson. 15 to 16 degrees north of Auckland, 13 to 14 degree high’s elsewhere today in the North Island.
