High pressure is mainly in control today, a northerly airflow develops over the South Island from evening.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Cloudy areas about eastern Northland with a few showers then easing from afternoon, sunnier in the west. Chance of a morning shower (mainly in the north) for Auckland then expect mainly sunny weather, some evening fog may form. Mainly sunny about the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty however watch for areas of fog morning and night. Light winds.
Highs: 13-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A mainly sunny day, a frosty start for inland areas. Light winds.
Highs: 10-14

Eastern North Island
Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, light winds tend southerly. Gisborne could see slightly cloudier skies with the risk of a shower or two, mainly right on the coast.
Highs: 13-14

Wellington
Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, light northerlies developing in the afternoon.
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson
Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells about Marlborough. Nelson may see an early shower, remaining fairly cloudy although some sun may break through in the afternoon. Light winds.
Highs: 11-13

Canterbury
Cloudy areas, some sun most likely in the afternoon. Northeasterly winds.
High: 10

West Coast
Early morning showers ease Greymouth northwards, some sun may even break through with long dry areas developing. Further south expect a mix of sun and cloud which gradually thickens from afternoon, there may be a light shower or two towards evening. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-13

Southland & Otago
A sunny day with a touch of high cloud possible from afternoon, light winds.
Highs: 7-10
