A weak front moves over the North Island today, mainly bringing some cloud and the chance of a shower mainly in the west. The South Island has a northwest airflow, sunny in the east with cloud in the west.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny areas, a shower or two possible mainly midday and through into the afternoon which mostly clear by evening. Light west to southwest winds.
Highs: 15-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Sunny areas with any early showers clearing, west to northwesterly winds. Southwesterly breezes about coastal Taranaki in the north.
Highs: 13-15

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds, perhaps tending southerly in the afternoon.
Highs: 17-18

Wellington

Mainly sunny with light winds.
High: 13

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with light winds.
High: 15

Canterbury

Sunny skies with light winds, tending northeast near the coast in the afternoon.
High: 14

West Coast

Cloudy areas, there may be a light shower or two about mainly in South Westland. Light west to southwesterly winds
Highs: 10-13

Southland & Otago

Cloudy areas about Southland, mostly sunny elsewhere. West to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 12-14
