A high pressure system covers most of New Zealand again today, a light southwesterly airflow does reside within this high, however, so expect areas of cloud in the west while eastern regions are mainly sunny.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Mostly cloudy with sunny breaks at times, light west to southwesterly winds. The Bay Of Plenty is mainly sunny, however.
Highs: 20-22

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mostly cloudy with sun breaking through at times, sun more likely for eastern parts of the Central North Island. West to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 18-19

Eastern North Island

Sunny with light winds, tending onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 19-20

Wellington

Sunny with northerly winds.
High: 19

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with mainly light winds, perhaps tending onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 19-22

Canterbury

Mainly sunny with light winds, tending east to northeast in the afternoon near the coast.
Highs: 20-23

West Coast

Sunny areas with west to southwest winds.
Highs 15-17

Southland & Otago

Sunny, perhaps a touch of high cloud. West to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 20-22
