A ridge lies over the North Island today bringing mainly settled weather, meanwhile northwesterlies increase over the South Island bringing cloud in the west and mainly sunny skies out east.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny with light winds.
Highs: 14-16

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mostly sunny with light winds, a few clouds drift in during the afternoon.
Highs: 11-13

Eastern North Island

Sunny with light winds, any early cloud clears.
Highs: 13-14

Wellington

Sunny areas with breezy northerly winds.
High: 13

Marlborough & Nelson

A mainly sunny day with light winds tending northwest in the afternoon.
Highs: 14-16

Canterbury

A mainly sunny day with light winds near the coast and northwesterly winds developing inland, some high cloud from afternoon.
Highs: 13-14

West Coast

Becoming mostly cloudy in the morning, the odd patchy shower about South Westland by midday then some rain moving in there in the evening. West to northwesterly winds gradually increase.
Highs: 12-13

Southland & Otago

Sunny areas and some increasing high cloud, northwesterly winds increase. A few spells of rain move through late afternoon and evening about Southland and Central Otago.
Highs: 11-13
