Thursday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

One more day of quiet and settled weather is in store for today.

A Tasmanian low is taking over the control of our weather starting later today.  That means precipitation chances will go up for much of the country.

Even during the daylight hours today, there are a few chances for precipitation.  Those are mainly about Northland and Auckland.  However, precipitation in these areas should hold off until late in the day.

Otherwise, it look for a mainly cloudy sky today.  There will be some sunny periods as well though.  We will also notice the winds picking up a bit today.  Rather breezy north to north east winds are expected.

Highs this afternoon should be pretty close to what we’ve been seeing.  Expect temperatures to top out in the upper teens to lower 20’s.
