An anticyclone covers much of the country tonight with a front weakening over the South Island, there is plenty of cloud about for many although the east coast of the North Island could see a mainly clear night ahead.

Auckland & Northland
Mainly cloudy with light southwesterly winds, there is the risk of a drizzle patch overnight about Auckland.
Low tonight: 7-9

Bay Of Plenty
Clear spells and some cloud, light southwesterlies.
Low tonight: 6-7

Central North Island & Waikato
Mostly cloudy with the chance of a drizzle patch now and then. Light west to southwest winds.
Lows tonight: 3-6

Eastern North Island
Mainly clear overnight with some high cloud in areas, light winds tend westerly about Wairarapa.
Lows tonight: 3-5

Western North Island
Mainly cloudy skies with the odd drizzle patch possible. West to northwesterly breezes.
Low tonight: 8-9

Wellington
Some cloud with northerly breezes.
Lows tonight: 9

Marlborough & Nelson
Areas of cloud about (mainly high cloud) with west to southwest winds.
Lows tonight: 4-6

Canterbury
Cloudy with light winds, could be a spot of rain or drizzle patch about this evening then clearing overnight.

West Coast
Patchy rain or drizzle, light north to northwest winds.

Could be some drizzle or patchy rain about this evening with light southerlies then clearing overnight.
