A southwesterly airflow eases over the country tonight with clearing conditions for most, this will result in some cold overnight temperatures for some.

Northland, Auckland
Cloudy spells with the odd shower, cool west to southwest winds. Showers clear towards dawn tomorrow morning.
Lows tonight: 8-11

Central North Island, Bay Of Plenty & Waikato
Mainly clear skies with west to southwest winds tending southerly around midnight. Becoming cold especially inland.
Lows tonight: 1-7

Eastern North Island
Remaining showers clear overnight, cool south to southwest winds.
Lows tonight: 5-6

Western North Island
The odd shower clears later this evening, brisk southeasterlies develop then ease.
Lows tonight: 5-6

Wellington
Cloudy periods with the odd shower, cool southerlies.
Lows tonight: 7-8

Nelson
Cloud clearing overnight and becoming cold with light winds.
Lows tonight: 1-3

Marlborough
Clear skies, light winds.
Lows tonight: 0-3

Canterbury
Becoming mainly clear overnight, chance of the odd coastal shower continuing mainly about Christchurch and Banks Peninsula. Light winds inland, southwesterlies near the coast.
Lows tonight: 0-3

West Coast
Clear with light winds
Lows tonight: 3-5

Southland & Otago
Any remaining showers clear then cloud breaking up overnight and becoming cold, especially inland.
Lows tonight: -2-4
