Thick high cloud with northerly winds, a brief spell of rain passes over during the night.

Rain moves in this evening with northerlies, possibly heavy about northern Taranaki and the Tararuas. Easing to showers overnight as winds tend more northwest.

Wellington
Cloudy with some rain developing this evening, brisk northerly winds.

Nelson
Rain, chance of a heavy fall later this evening then easing overnight and clearing by dawn tomorrow. Northerly winds.
