Cooler, windier and wetter weather is moving into NZ next two to three days, ahead of a few cold fronts moving up the country. They fronts are a bit weak, but do help bring an unsettled pattern across the country with patchy rain, showers and drizzle patches (dry areas too).
Rainfall totals aren’t large for most places and, unfortunately, lowest totals look to mostly be in the driest regions – but there will be some hit and miss positive rain for some.
The rain graphs in our new app help to show beginning, departure and peak times of incoming rain or showers wherever you are across NZ.
High pressure expands from the west this weekend, bringing frosts on Saturday morning to the South Island’s interior and more settled weather into next week. See our video from yesterday for more details on this – and of course our next video our early this afternoon (plus our Australia-only 7 day weather video, which we issue every Thursday afternoon).
