A cluster of thunderstorms is slowly making its way to the western shores of the North Island tonight.
New Plymouth up to Kaitaia are potentially in the firing line however once these thunderheads hit land, they can lose some of their punch.
Today bore witness of what can happen if they continue on their bold march, as a tornado struck just south of Auckland causing some roofing and fencing damage.
The early hours of tomorrow morning appears to be the timeframe, if and when these storms strike.
