Here’s what is making the weather headlines this weekend…
SPITS CLEAR TO AFTERNOON WARMTH / SUN
A front moving over the South Island brings spits of rain to the east coast this morning, conditions clear up this afternoon with sun developing and temperatures becoming warm as northeasterly winds tend north to northwest. Highs may reach into the mid twenties.
RAIN HEAVY NELSON / MARLBOROUGH
Tasman, Nelson and parts of Marlborough see some heavy rain today as a front move through, easing later this afternoon or evening.
Check out the graphs on ruralweather.co.nz to see how much rain is possible for your area, also when wind and rainfall rates peak.
Today Nelson is pegged to get 31.4mm.
Isolated heavy falls are possible about Auckland and Northland from this afternoon also, perhaps even a thunderstorm. More on today’s thunderstorm outlook from Metservice here.
