Very warm conditions in the north and central areas of the country again today but cool in the south. Temperatures from one end of the country to the other varied considerably.
Tonight, more steamy weather is on the way for northerners whereas a blanket or 2 might be needed in the south, as cooler than average temps may move in.
Tomorrow, rain should move into some areas with heavy falls possible and alleviating the dry conditions in a few parched areas hopefully.
Todays maximum was 31 in Thames and Paeroa and the low was 15 in Invercargill, Darfield and Hanmer Springs
