Hi Andrew,
Hope you slept ok! Don’t think this one will be a tropical cyclone…doesn’t look especially windy at this stage. Will keep you posted!
Cheers

Hi there, well not that much rain here in Tauranga, how ever its been VERY hot and sticky. Are we going to get much rain, of how about a bit of thunder of the next few days?
Thanks
Brendan Pratt

Hi Brendan, We were never all that confident of heavy rain over northern New Zealand from this system… in fact we mostly forecast showers for Auckland during this event. I think Thursday is lining up to be a weather data. Our computer models give a 70& chance for Thurs morning and that goes even higher into Thursday night and Friday morning. Could be a rumble of thunder but it’d be isolated I think.
It’s been mostly dry here in Auckland for the past few hours…just a few spits every now and then.
Probably be mostly dry for the next 12 to 18 hours…it’s a slow moving system – so timing the landfall of rain is quite tricky!!
Cheers
Phil.
