TODAY IN REVIEW

The mainland felt the warmth of the sunshine today, moreso than their northern counterparts, as the warmer air from an approaching system took hold. Nelsonians might disagree with that however, as the chill was felt considerably there today.

WARMEST

Canterbury and Central Otago took top honours today with the temperature stakes. Culverden and Alexandra  both hit 18 degrees today with a mild Spring northerly starting to take effect.

COLDEST

In a very rare occurrence, Nelson took the nationwide low with just 10 degrees today and also Lake Rotoiti and Totaranui, also felt the chill in the region with just 11 degrees. Timaru Gardens managed just 11 too.

MAIN CENTRES

Auckland hit  a milder 16 degrees today, Hamilton and Wellington made 15, Christchurch on 14 and Dunedin was the coolest main centre with 13 degrees- in stark contrast to yesterday when it was top of the list!
