Saturday was a hot one in the North Island and combined with humidity in some northern areas, it was rather uncomfortable.
The coastline around the South Island was a little cool in southern regions but inland and further north, temperatures were very pleasant.
Tonight it should be dry over most of the country and fairly humid once more in the north and tomorrow the heat is on for many areas .
30 degrees should be clocked up in many centres and the high 30s is possible in some central and eastern areas.
Today the maximum was 32 degrees in Masterton and Kawerau and the low was Oamaru with 15 degrees.

Hi Andrew,
We’re wondering if you’ll also top the big 30 tomorrow, as it appears a little more heat is on the way. Keep out of the heat of the day is our advice and cold drinks could be the way to go as the nights continue to be sticky too!
Cheers

Managed to clock in with a high of 28.9 in Howick, Auckland today. I’d have to say I haven’t seen the metservice forecast 28 (for tomorrow) for Auckland in the few years I’ve been interested in weather, and so I’m wondering, that if they said 27 for today, will we hit 30 tomorrow (like your forecast says)…

We here at WeatherWatch believe that 30 is a real possibility tomorrow for Auckland. the heat is continuing to build and combined with the humidity, it may ‘ feel ‘ closer to 40 and we’ll update tomorrow.
Cheers

Unusual Kaitaia reading over 31°c though its not unusual fo it to be in the mid to late 20s,must have either been a light southerly or no wind.
