The Big Picture on Tuesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A ridge brings mainly settled conditions on Tuesday stretching out from a large high pressure system in the Tasman Sea however that doesn’t necessarily mean cloud free weather for all regions.

Mostly sunny for the upper North Island on Tuesday, some cloud about western Northland may bring the chance of a shower. Also about the Bay Of Plenty late afternoon / evening there is the chance of an isolated shower otherwise expect a mainly sunny morning. Winds form the south.

A mainly sunny day for the lower North Island in the west, cloudier in the east with a few showers. Winds cool from the south or southeast.

Plenty of cloud in the east and north of the South Island, light winds tend east to northeast in the afternoon. Low risk of a shower or two about otherwise mainly dry. The West Coast fairs better with mainly sunny conditions.

Fairly cloudy about Otago, Southland sees a mix of sun and cloud.

Not all regions and towns have been mentioned above. For specific 10 day information for your city, town, rural community or island please see the 1500 forecasts on our homepage!
