As the first weekend of Spring comes to a close, temperatures across the country were near September averages.
The top temperature of 19 degrees went to Kawerau and the coolest centre was Queenstown today with 11 degrees.
Tauranga was the warmest main centre with 18, Hamilton topped 17, while Auckland and Christchurch shared 16, Dunedin 15 and Wellington the coolest on 13 degrees.
Tomorrow, temperatures are expected to be similar but a little warmer in the far south as nor’ west winds pickup.Eastern areas on Tuesday should see the mildest conditions as the fohn wind is expected to break through to coastal regions off and on.
