If you’ve checked your local 10 day forecast you may have noticed the temperatures bounce around this week as we enter peak spring weather.
Over the weekend some regions had sub-tropical winds and temperatures several degrees above normal. Now another cold front will see temperatures tumbling in the south and even northerners will see some fluctuating between warmer than normal and colder than normal for this time of year.
The first colder change arrives this afternoon in the south and spreads up the North Island on Tuesday.
The second cold front arrives on Wednesday in the South Island and the southern/eastern North Island later in the day or night.
The third cold change comes in on Saturday for the South Island and the lower North Island and then falls apart on Sunday further north.
Expect temperatures to fluctuate this week with single digit highs in the south and a few to several degree drop in the north – for a time anyway, northern NZ isn’t as affected by the cold for as long.
