Temperatures climb into the 20s

As exclusively predicted by WeatherWatch.co.nz during the weekend temperatures today reached into the low 20s as a warm air mass continues to cross the country.

Napier took the national high of 21 degrees, while Hastings reach 20.

Gisborne wasn’t far behind on 19 degrees while Tauranga, Whakatane, Blenheim and Kaikoura all had 18 degrees.   Interestingly Kaikoura had 18 degrees at 10:30 last night.

Overnight lows are predicted to be fairly mild again tonight with eastern and northern parts of the North Island experiencing more warm weather tomorrow and Wednesday predicts WeatherWatch.co.nz.

Today’s maximum was 15.5C before the southerly came through early this morning. Only 9C daytime maximum today, which was the overnight minimum was well, under cloudy conditions. Much cooler than from yesterday’s warmer NW conditions which raised the screen temperature here to 18C.
