Rain or showers cover the upper North Island today bringing average temperatures for the time of year, elsewhere around New Zealand expect mainly warmer than average temperatures especially in the east.

No extremes in regards to overnight lows tonight, a touch cooler than average for North Canterbury and Northland. Cloud and some rain brings warmer than average overnight lows for parts of Southland / Otago.
