A northwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today bringing warm temperatures for most regions, this is especially true for Canterbury where temperatures may even crack 20 in the odd spot.
A northwest airflow keeps overnight lows on the warm side tonight, the cool down starts from Wednesday afternoon as a southwest change starts to move northwards over the South Island.
