A northerly airflow lies over the country on Friday, this brings a lift in temperatures especially about the eastern South Island where highs jump into the mid twenties in the afternoon. Afternoon temperatures in the late teens or early twenties for everywhere else.
Quite warm overnight Friday ahead of a cold front which pushes northwards over New Zealand on Saturday. Lows not dropping below the mid teens for most regions.
