Temperature Trends: Overnight Tuesday and daytime Wednesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Mostly average overnight lows for the North Island tonight to see in the new year. Conditions are mostly clear and cloud free also with light winds, however watch for the risk of a few mist / fog patches about some inland areas. The South Island sees above average overnight lows with a building northwesterly airflow likely. Skies are relatively clear apart from Fiordland.

New Years day is hot for many, right about coastal parts of the North Island sea breezes keep temperatures a little cooler than inland areas. Eastern parts of the South and North Islands may be hotter than what the map indicates below, Canterbury may get into the mid thirties for example. Have a great day and slip slop slap!
