Temperature Trends: Overnight Sunday and daytime Monday

Cooler than normal temperatures overnight for the northern and southern end of the country. Overnight lows in the north are cool due to an anticyclone meanwhile in the south, southwesterly winds bring a chill. In the middle a northwest airflow keeps overnight lows average to above average.

The upper / eastern North Island is warmer than normal tomorrow due to settled conditions before a front moves up from the south later in the day / overnight. Cool for the eastern South Island and about Wellington through to Taranaki for the western North Island. The West Coast of the South Island is mainly sunny and warmer than normal due to a southeasterly airflow. Highs in the mid to late twenties for the upper / eastern North Island, highs in the mid teens for the eastern South Island.
