Despite some inclement weather that is about today temperatures are fairly average for the time of year, some spots are a little above average as indicated in the map below. The warmest day time highs go to Northland, Auckland and Hawkes Bay in the mid teens. The coolest spot is the far south of the South Island on between 8 to 9 degrees.
This evening and overnight we start to see cold temperatures moving northwards over the South Island. The North Island has mostly average overnight lows however Northland and parts of Auckland get a little cool.
